This is an update to my original post on this issue, in which I pointed out that Obama Care will result in another huge deficit, and will result in huge cuts to the Medicare program.

Now I have read that not only will 50 Billion be cut from Medicare, but also the Medicare benefits paid to doctors will be cut by 25 percent, starting in a year or two. If this occurs, doctors will refuse to see Medicare patients, leaving the elderly in a precarious state where they will be hard pressed to find a doctor who will treat them. To some extent the same thing already is occurring with Medicaid. I recently called every doctor listed in my neighborhood to see if any of them would treat a person I met who is on Medicaid, and none of them accepted Medicaid, so I finally had to bring him to an outpatient hospital clinic.

If Obama Care eventually results in a government run health care system, then, in my opinion, we will be in trouble. Will we be faced with health care rationing and be put on long waiting lists for surgery that is needed right away? This is occurring in other countries with socialized medicine, resulting in many people running to America to get the surgery they need.

In my original post, I pointed out how inefficiently the government runs everything they touch, like the clunker car program. Now it turns out that even though they knew of the danger of the swine flu since last spring, the government origianlly gave us their assurances that 120 milliong doses of the vaccine would be ready by mid to end October, then reduced this promise to 40 million, and now only 13 million doses are available.

Doctors around the country are running out of the vaccine. In fact, on the news today it was reported that no longer will the federal government mandate that all health care workers be vaccinated as there is a shortage of the vaccine, and priority must now be given to those people most at risk. So we see that even with a relatively simple health issue, the government has failed us and now, indeed, rationing of a life-saving vaccine has resulted.

We need to pray that the swine flu will not result in a massive epidemic, but if this does occur it will be because our government failed to deliver on its promise. We need to pray that God sends the Holy Spirit to convict our leaders that what they are doing is wrong, and softens their hearts so they cease politicking and do what is right.

If our government can’t even handle the vaccine program properly, why should we believe they could properly handle our health care system?

In my opinion, all the current Senate and House plans need to be scrapped, and then we need to start over with a more sesible plan. If you agree, contact your Congresssmen and women and let them know how you feel.

It is my opinion that the current plans are harmful.

First of all, they will add significantly to the already unsustainable buget deficit of over one trillion dollars. The Government claims that cost savings will offset the increased spending, but I ask, what government program ever saved us money, eliminated waste or was run efficiently. They couldn’t even run the clunkers program properly, with many dealers dropping out because of long delays in being reimbursed by the government. And don’t forget that it is the government that has run Social Security and Medicare, both of which are quickly running out of money.

Secondly, the bills propose to cut fifty billion dollars from Medicare, yet assure us that this will not result in a decrease in medical coverage for senior citizens. And the bill contains clauses to penalize doctors who do not provide medical care that is cost effective, which can lead to doctors denying needed medical care to patients who are not in good health, so that time, effort and money are not wasted on the sick and the old.

The government forbids the teaching of creation in our schools, has removed the ten commandments from public places, bans prayer in schools, promotes abortion (which is murder–murder is the snuffing out of a living being, and a fetus is a living person), and now that it has succeeded in killing millions of the young, it is subtly attempting, in my opinion, to decrease the surplus population (hint: isn’t it strange that if someone has a chronic disease as diabetes they are stated to be on the priority list for the swine flu vaccine, yet this applies only to adults through age 64–the only difference I can see between age 64 and 65 is that those 65 and over are on Medicare and Social Security).

The bible teaches that if a nation turns its face from God and turns to evil ways, that nation will suffer severe consequences. The only thing that will save our country from going into the ash heaps of history is a revival and a return to God.

Please note that the above statements are my opinion, and I realize that other opinions do exist.
